Playas de Fornells (Platges de Fornells in Catalan) is a self contained holiday resort situated on the protected marine reserve coast in north-east Menorca.
Whilst featuring a few apart-hotels it is predominantly a private resort comprising a number of ‘communities’ of individually owned apartments.
The site benefits from a small selection of supermarkets, restaurants, bars and shops that provide everything required to enjoy a holiday without ever leaving the complex.
Many communities have their own pool and all are within easy reach of the sea, many a few minutes away from Cala Tirant beach. This is divided in two with a small beach adjoining the development and a larger one, accessed by a wooden walkway which backs on to protected dunes and lagoons where wild tortoises live. This beach is classified as ‘rural’ meaning it lacks commercial facilities but therefore is never crowded. It is however provided with life guard cover throughout the season.
Although self-sufficient (and around only 40-45 minutes walk from Fornells) many holiday makers opt for a hire car as Playas de Fornells is perfectly situated for exploring all the island has to offer.
Situated on a hilly headland most apartments are accessed via a number of steps. If this is likely to present a problem for any of your party please advise when booking.
Your apartment will be looked after by an on-site management company who will provide linen and cleaning at the beginning and end of your stay and will be available to assist should you experience any problems with the property.
